I know it's been along time since my last post but I have a good reason :) My son, daughter in law and grandson have moved in with us and all my time has been spent loving on my grandson! As things start to calm down a bit I will start posting again….I'm ready to stamp just have to get to my stamping spot! With all that said I wish all of you a Happy New Year and I will see you soon!

My theme again was too use things I've already had and have never touched. DP is by SU and is retired. Ribbon is Old olive and ink Certainly Celery and close to cocoa. I ran the DP paper thru the cuttlebug machine with the snowflake folder to give it more texture.

Copic Certification….

Yesterday I took a Copic certification class with the talented Debbie Olson! It was an all day class I learned so much! There are so many different papers that they recommend and I tried 2 that she had and couldn't shade to save my life! I was really frustrated thinking I wasn't going to get it but I came home and tried my techniques on my favorite paper (Georgia Pacific) and it wan't all that I thought it was going to be either! Even though I can color on it and I can't shade on it and the blender pen doesn't work "they way it should" on GP paper either! I tried Gina K paper which I absolutely love and will never stop buying but I couldn't shade on it either!! I had one more brand left and I tried it….guess what! I can shade on it quite easily and the blending pen did "what it was supposed to do" on it. I'm really excited because I love this paper to! So , drum roll please…….my new favorite paper to blend with copic markers is PAPER TREY INK WHITE CARDSTOCK ! I'm so excited I'm going to shop now and also going to get vintage cream for a different look. I'm so excited!!! Now I just need to work on my skills and get to coloring! Wish me luck! Oh, I will post some of my "first tries" before I through it in the trash haha!

Today I thought I'd practice coloring with my Copic Markers. The stamp set I used is called

"Something is fishy" from My favorite things". The paper I used is random paper I had in my scrap box. Now for the saying….I didn't intend to put it where it is but I made a mistake and had to cover it! Oops!

Accessories used : Nestabilities, crab punch by Martha Stewart, wave punch by EK, buttons and ribbon.

My "less than 5 Minute" card

I had to make a thank you card today so I chose some 12x12 double sided paper, made a couple layers using white (wish I would have used vanilla!) picked a coordinating ink added ribbon and pearls and *poof* I was done. All supplies are SU except pearls.

I saw the cutest boxes made with SU's milk carton die cut so I had to give it a try. I must say it was a lot of fun! I made this matching card and box as a gift and didn't stamp at all! I used some of my favorite paper that retired from SU in 2010. Tutorial and cute boxes were found here.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 135

The other day a friend came over and we spent the day using our Cuttlebugs to cut things out. I remembered I'd found this piece of material at a thrift store so I decided to cut some flowers with it. Well, as usual I left my mess on the table so for a couple days I kept eyeing the paper and the material thinking it really matched! Then finally I walked over and sat down and in about 5 minutes this card was put together and I love it! I've got some SU on there as well as A Muse paper, unknown paper, and a random stamp I've had for about 4 yrs. Oh yea, can't forget the clouds …those are from PaperTreyInk I believe. Hope you like it :)

This is a hero arts stamp inked with distress ink and then the bird and flower I colored with my copic markers. I then decided to use my exacto knife and lifted some of the petals.

I used a cuttlebug folder for this back ground and its baby themed :) Stamps are by Verve except for polka dots are from paper trey ink and pearls are from Taylored Expressions. Ribbon and button are random.

Finally!! Ok, my space seats 8 to 10 depending of how much room you want :)I have the entire loft area at the top of the stairs and there is soooooooo much room!! All my furniture is from Ikea and I've had most of it a long time.

This was inspired my Mary Fish and it was purchased at Ikea and is is a wall mount dvd or cd holder….perfect for stamps in dvd case! Forgot to mention there are two here and I paid $5.99 each :)

I have a thing for red and I spotted this a long time ago so bought it but never really liked it in my old space to I gave it away and then guess what! Yep, she gave it back and I just happened to have a perfect spot for it :)
Ink storage….can't remember where I bought it! I love it tho!

Another fun thing from Ikea…its a magnet board that I paid $12.99 for and then the tins were 3 to a box for $3.99. There is a huge magnet on the back so they hold a lot!

Ok, this circle thing caught my eye and I was thinking "hey I can hang ALL my ribbon on here!" NOT! I have too much ribbon so only a small portion would fit on it so I made it into wall art :)

This is another favorite of mine and yes its from Ikea :) I have all my punches in here as well as loose wood stamps.

A couple fun projects and my mess in progress

I had a lot of fun making these cups! I have a friend who is sick and I wanted to cheer her up so I bought 2 of these cups and put 5 single packets of Wylers Lemonaide inside each one. Then I used My Favorite Things stamp called "Pucker Up" to make the tag. Copic markers were used. I then tied a bow with the ribbon and used a glue dot to stick it to the lid. Embroidery thread was used to tie tag around straw and viola! Cute cup!
This card was made with SU paper and a sketch I found in a magazine (had to find a little mojo)

The stamps used are from Amuse designs. Patterned paper was a scrap. Don't remember where I would the brown pearls :(

Ok, and finally my new stamp space!! It's huge and it's a work in progress right now! I love all the space I have and the fact that I can have 2 8ft tables in the middle of the floor butted up to each other. All shelves are from Ikea, my favorite store for craft supplies!

Since I'm going to be a grandma and I'm so excited I decided to make my baby announcements this weekend! Yes, it's way to early to know if it's a boy or girl so I made 10 of each of a boy and a girl!! The paper I used I found at Tuesday Mornings and it was $1.99 for each pack..great deal huh! The snail stamp is an unknown and the stork and baby are from PSX. Hope you like them!

My card tote

I saw this cute tote on the blog. I wanted to try one for myself and this is what I came up with. It is different from hers but I like it this way. I cut two pieces of thick card board 5 1/2 w x 6 1/4 h. The bottom piece is 4 w x 5 1/2 w. I basically laid the cut pieces in the center of the 12x12 paper (MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE A WIDE ENOUGH GAP BETWEEN CARD BOARD SINCE YOU WILL BE FOLDING THE PIECES UP TO FORM YOUR TOTE) and then had to layer another piece since you will have some card board showing. After you get everything glued down onto the paper fold paper over sides to cover edges. After that step was finished I took matching card stock and covered the whole inside of the panel. I punched all holes with the cropodile and used large grommets so the ribbon could go through. The black piece of paper which is the sides of your card tote are 4 inches x 10 and then scored at 1/2 inch and folded. Add your ribbon for handles, thread ribbon through the sides both top and bottom to hold tote up and secure with knots on outside of tote then embellish. I don't have ribbon lengths because my tote is very tight so measure according to how flexible you want your tote to be.

I forgot to mention that my hubby made the calendar page on the pc and it measures 4 1/4 x 5 3/4. Then layer on your card stock and cut to fit tote.

Super-Secret Cook Family Caramel Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup margarine

2 1/4 cup brown sugar

Dash of salt

1 cup light corn syrup

1 15-oz can condensed milk

1 tsp vanilla

Melt butter and margarine in heavy 3 quart saucepan. Add sugar and salt; stir thoroughly. Stir in corn syrup; mix well. Gradually add condensed milk, stirring constantly. Using candy thermometer, cook and stir over medium heat to firm ball stage (245 degrees) for about 20-25 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour into buttered 9x9 pan, or 9x13 for thinner caramels. Cool slightly and cut into squares. Wrap in waxed paper. ENJOY!

I made this tonight and it is out of this world! I highly recommend it and make sure and stop by Taylor's blog to see her 12 days of Christmas!

I've got to say I've loved working with these colors! I got this super cute stamp from Greeting Farm so decided to use my new stamp and make some special cards for my friends! I used SU cs and Doodlebug dp then I used my grass punch and made black grass! Of course I used my Copic Markers to color and popped up almost everything on the cards. I decided to make a flower using a punch, and stamp for the candy corns then cut them out and voila! leaves!

I had an absolute blast making these cards! My friend Susan came over on Thursday and we stamped until 10:00 that night with a dinner break at Strings so our rumbling tummy's!

Card stock is SU, dp is Doodlebug, then the cuttlebug was used for the bats. I used Copic markers to color all images. Images are from CC designs. Buttons were used to spice it up a bit with embroidery thread for the bows and knots. Almost forgot....I used a G rated stamp for grass and also a grass punch by MS. Hope you like them!

I had a blast making this card! The paper is from SU! which I totally love and am going to have to buy more of! The stamped image is MFT and then I used nestabilities for the circle, scallop and plaid scrap at bottom. Buttons are random buttons in my jar of 1000! I used Copics to color image and then paper pieced her dress. Bashful blue ribbon was used on the top of the plaid paper :)

This is just a simple card I made using all SU except for the ribbon I found at M's and the stickles. I love when you can make a simple card in less than 30 min unless you get things crooked or smear the wet stickles and then it turn into 3 tries and 1 1/2 hrs! But fun none the less :)

My hubby and I just got home from a 10 day trip to visit my son and his wife. It was so good to see him! His has grown so much as a man and we are so proud of him! As his mom this deployment was all new to me and I didn't know how I would react and as I look back I closed down pretty tight and didn't allow myself to do a lot of the fun things I usually do and stamping was a big one. This was definitely a new experience to all of us and am looking forward to having a normal life that includes stamping and doing what I love. Again thank you to all who prayed for Josh I know your prayers are what kept him safe :)

Good morning all! This is from a card I saw at a local stamp store. Images are from Hero Arts and word is unknown. I stamped the flower on Doodle Bug paper 3 times and cut them out and layered them on top of each other. All paper is Doodle Bug except the white which is SU. And them I picked a coordinating button and glued it on top. TFL :)

Ok, these first two cards are done with paper by SU and Cosmo Cricket. I love the CC paper and wanted to make some cards with it and found that SU's sage shadow went well with it. House stamp is Hero Arts and thinking of you is unknown. Punches are SU and so is ribbon. And dots on first card are Papertrey.

This flower is from my yard :) It's amazing that it's been so cold that this could even bloom right now so had to take a picture :)

First off my son made it to Iraq! I feel much calmer now :) Now to my card.....the stamp is from Lockhart stamps and paper and ribbon from SU. I do admit I missed a step...I was supposed to put a so saffron piece under the white as a bg and I broke my corner rounder so I didn't do it. Then I figured out I could still round corners so tried to pull the white off and it started to tear so I just said forget it! It would have been much better with the so saff so I will remake the card at some point!

I used another one of my new stamps for this card...it's the love wheel but I took mine off the wheel and mounted it on the sticky foam for clear blocks. It seemed to work really good and it was easy to position it. I'm lovin the new stuff!

I don't know why I like them so much but I do! Everything is SU except for the leaves on the cherries...the are papertrey ink. Oh and did use black stickles for the dots on the white. I had so much fun making this unexpected project today! First off I started out cleaning my area and then I thought hmmm I should mess with this chipboard and then the next thing you know I made a cookbook!

I started out with an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of chipboard cut in half,

2 identical pieces of double sided 12 x 12 paper cut to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2

Adhere paper to both sides of chip board for a front and back on both sides

I downloaded recipe cards from Taylored Expressions and printed on both sides of cs

I decorated simple so I could run the covers through my xyron with laminating cartridge

Then punch your holes with the bind it all add your o wire and then you're finished!

Ok, this card didn't turn out at all like I planned it and I worked on it for 2 hrs. I guess I'm a bit rusty and will have to do some card sketches to get back into the groove. Anyways, this is it!

I used SU card stock, unknown dp, and the cute stamp is C.C. designs. I also used my new favorite thing.....Smooch mist.

This card was cased from Wee Inklings. This is one of the most inspirational blogs I have found and LeAnne is such a sweet person. I have grown very fond of her :) When I saw the card I loved it and wanted to make one for myself but didn't want it to look just like hers so I changed a few things on mine. I love these digi images!!! I truely am a colorer at heart and had a blast coloring this with my Copic markers! All paper except dotted is SU. I used Smooch spray for the sparkle and LOVE the stuff! The only thing I don't like about the picture of the card is that it looks like the greens don't match but they do in real life.

I made this with a friend of mine today and I think it turned out so cute! The layout is different and we got to use one of Stampin Ups die cuts. All the paper is SU including the ds paper and ribbon.

Hi all! I'm just now getting into fall and am excited to post my first fall card! On this card I used Autumn Traditions dp by SU, close to cocoa, ruby red and elegant eggplant cs. I also used the medium oval punch as well as the large oval punch and the new word window punch. Give Thanks is stamped in elegant eggplant and then pop dotted up. The only thing that isn't SU is the leaf punch which I used to punch all my leaves out. All my leaves are layered and pop dots were used to add demintion. I then bent some of the leaves up. For the ribbon tail I used the word window and cut notches out to make the edge look like ribbon.

I found this stamp a few months ago and picked it up and I'm so glad I did. What a perfect way to tell my son what I think and feel about him serving our country and making his family proud. The thought of him being far away is scarey but what a feeling of patriotism and pride for my brave son.

It's been about 4 weeks since I've been blogging and I'm glad to be back! In the time that I was gone my husband was in American Samoa for 12 days working with FEMA to repair the electrical system. As of today my 18 yr old and my 21 yr old have moved out of the house and are living on there own. It's a new chapter in mine and my husbands life and I know it will take some getting used to not having my boys home. I think I've been struggling with empty nest syndrome for several weeks now. I've got to figure my self out again and find out who I am other than being a mom which I'm sure several of you had already done! With all that said I'd like to share a couple cards I made. This first card I made was for my aunt who just had a birthday. Everything is Stamping Up except for the embossing folder and ribbon.....hope you like it :)

This last card I made for Jeremy, my son, who just turned 21. Paper and ink are from SU, nestabilities were used and stamped images are from CTMH. Thanks for looking :)

This card was made for a very special person and his new wife for their wedding. I couldn't be there so I wanted to make a card that would suit their personalities and who they are. I hope they like it! The stamps are from Tim Holtz and ink is SU. I also used tiny rhinestones by Taylor V. I did notice that the colors aren't as vibrant in the photos but at least you can see it! Let me know what you think about this card.........

The colors used were real red, yoyo yellow, going grey, and black. I used the pad on paper technique and just pulled the color where I wanted it. Then I used a red marker to color some of the stamped image.

Question: Do you like it with the frayed ribbon or without?

My Christmas card for this year!!

I'm so excited that I'm so ahead of myself for this years cards! Last year I waited until Dec.1 and only made 10 but this year I'm making 40. Ok, on to the card.......SU was used for everything on this card except the swiss dots on the second layer.

Paper: Real red, whisper white, barely banana

Stamps: Barely Christmas (mini), Four the Holidays (mini)

Accessories: Top note die cut, ribbon, swiss dots embossing folder, pop dots, corner rounder, black marker for dots and tripple heart punch

Ink: Basic black, Certainly Celery, Real red, Close to cocoa

I love using this quilting set from paper trey ink! I wanted to make something that looked patriotic and I think I accomplished that. The pattern paper is just some paper I found that I've had for years!

I had fun making this card and used several different stamp sets from SU to make it. I love using the little cups!

This is a simple card I made for a friend of mine who is in Iraq. The yellow ribbon is so she'll know I'm waiting for her safe return.

A little boring but I was just getting started! I used my papertrey ink stamps for this card.

Ahhhh today was a great day! I haven't sat at my stamping table in weeks and I had such a great time stamping and I even stayed in my pj's! My stamping area is a huge disaster but hey, that's what happens when your creativity comes out right! Now I've got to run up and shower before my hubby comes home!

Copics using Gina K paper....

First I'd like to say thank you to all who have been praying for my SIL....she's holding her own and I going for a visit for 7 days starting tomorrow. Please if you will, keep us in your prayers :)

On to my card. It isn't much of a card but and experiment with the copics and Gina K 120 lb wt. paper and I want to say the paper passed with flying colors! I love this paper! I can now do single layer cards with no soaking through the back with copics and this paper :) Awesome!

I've been wanting to paint an accent wall for so long but I wanted it in a red hue so I toughened up went to Lowe's and the very first color I picked I went with. It's called National Historic Spanish Tile. When I first put it on I was so scared because it looked almost magenta but after the second coat and of course with the drying time I fell in love with it! It looks a little lighter in the pix than it really is but you can get the general idea. Even my hubby likes it as well as my boys :) Now I feel like I need to re-paint my whole house!!

A gift box............

I bought Lauren Meaders template from Paper trey ink and used the pattern to make a gift box. This was such a fun project! I used retired SU! paper and then satin brown ribbon to tie around the box like a package. I don't know what I'm doing with it yet......heck I may keep it for myself since it's so cute! The picture really doesn't do it justice it looks so much better in person :)

I wanted to share with you the Father's Day card I made my sweet hubby. He hasn't seen it yet and I hope he likes it. I used my Cheers to you set from SU! and then liquid applique and of course my favorite embelishments...Dew Drops. Other items used were ribbon and the paper piercer. All paper is SU except for the stripe which I bought at Tuesday Mornings.

I've got to say I'm in love with this paper from Doodlebug! I bought also every piece of there new line! It's just so yummy! Ok, here's another card with the same layout as below but with different paper. The package stamp is SU and Happy Bday is also SU. Again I used my souffle pen for the white polka dots and then a green one on the package as well as yellow around the circle. The big oval punch is also SU. Hope you like it :)

I almost didn't post these because I cased Dawn Easton with this cute cute paper from Doodle Bug and layout. I did change the solid paper and a couple of things on the other card and the stamped images are different. I am totally in love with this new paper line! I'm working on another card with the same layout but different paper from the same line and I'm loving it!

Things I've added: white dots with my souffle pen, dew drops, hero arts stamps, brown marker for more dots, and Pixie Pink paper

Isn't this just the cutest thing you've ever seen!! This is Zachs graduation cake and I used the picture I took of him on his first day of kindergarten! The other picture is his actual graduation picture. When I chose that picture for the cake I started boohooing and when I got the cake home and looked at it and showed Zach I started boohooing!! It's going to be a fun night!

I wanted to share my son Zachs prom picture. We decided to them ourself and save $85! I think they turned out cute :)

After seeing all the fun flower pot cards I decided to try a couple. Every here is SU except for the dotted strip of paper. I used my stylus to texture the flowers and vein the leaves and then used my score pal to make lines in the pots.

Do you ever make a card and think "Ugh this is not the best looking card I've ever made"! Well I hate to say it but I'm feeling that with this one. I was trying to use Mojo Monday card sketch for some help to do my sons graduation card and with it being a "man card" I did simple and I used the school colors.

For now my computer is fixed but it's still acting a little funny so I thought I'd jump right in and post a challenge card I did today from Taylored Expressions

I've had this set for so long and have never used it so I thought this would be a good time. Everything is SU! except the nestabilitie and dew drop. I used the paper piecing for the flower pot and used water color for the flowers and after they dried I used my Copics to outline them.

I made a card! This card is for my friends hubby who just had re-constructive knee surgery. I didn't want this card to girly and all and I think I accomplished that. Dog stamp is from Inky Antics, life is from "Enjoy Every Moment" by SU, paws are from a inkadinkadoo stamp set, bg paper is all from SU and hydrant paper from Boxer Scrapbook Productions. I got to use my new inverted circles by Nestabilities. Forgot to mention that I used stickles as dots on inverted circle. I also used crystal effect on nose and paws and image was colored with Copic markers.

First let me share the picure of my hubby and son! He is an official Explosive Ordnance Disposal Tech! We had such a good time and I'm so proud of him! And his marriage is doing great. I'm truly blessed with all three of my children!

Ok, now to the blog candy.....I was so glad to see and read all the kind comments you all left! You are all a very sweet bunch of stampin girls and I wish I had more to give! But for now I could only pick 1 winner and the winner is........Crafty Guam Girl!!

This is the card I made for my son to honor him for all his hard work and below is the blog candy and a little history :)

As many of you know my son is in the Air Force. Well, for the last 10 months he has been in Explosive Ordnance Disposal Tech School. HE IS FINALLY GRADUATING! Woohoo!! My husband and I leave Saturday (tomorrow) morning at 4am to fly to Florida to be with him on graduatoin day. We are so proud of him and all his hard work as this has been very intense and stressful for him! So to honor this special occasion I'm giving away another blog candy and all you have to do is link my blog to yours and leave me a comment! I saw this on another blog but can't remember where. Anyway I thought this was a wonderful idea!! I have (had) so many wheels all put up in a box and I never use them because I forget they are there so I decided to remove them from the wheels and adhere them to EZ mount! Now I have lots of new stamps I can put on an acrylic block and stamp away! I'm really excited!! Oh, forgot to mention that I used my awesome Heat Knife by Walnut Hollow!

I first saw this card here and fell in love with it! The set is called Quilt Quips and it's from Stampin' Up! I had to make one but didn't want to CASE the whole thing so I used her layout and came out with this. Card stock is Tempting Turq from SU and Bg paper is from Tuesday Mornings. I got 25 sheets for $1.99!! I know that's a lot of the same paper but I couldn't pass it up :) I again used my Copic markers to color the quilt pieces and put buttons at the top and tempting turq ribbon to finish it off. It's not as pretty as the original but I like it :)

This card I just love! I bought my friend this stamp for her birthday which is this coming NOVEMBER and couldn't wait to give it to her! LOL. Anyways she made this for me and I got it in the mail today :) It's so fun to get happy mail especially when you aren't expecting any!
